Reputation Matters

63%

63% of a company’s market value is attributed to reputation, according to global executives.

Global Risk

#2

Misinformation and disinformation rank second on the two-year global risk outlook, remaining among the top two risks for a third consecutive year.

The Moment

When the stakes are high and time is limited, there is no room for a message that misses.

A narrative threat can now spread across digital ecosystems in minutes, outpacing traditional PR, while AI has accelerated the problem. In the World Economic Forum’s latest survey, half of global leaders and experts expect a turbulent or stormy two years ahead, while only 1% expect calm.

In these moments, leaders are often exposed, time-constrained, and watching the wrong story take hold. Legal, PR, HR, and investor relations may all be at the table, yet a trusted senior advisor may still be missing: someone who can identify what is truly at stake, align the message, and help the leader communicate with clarity, credibility, and humanity.

That is the gap Latour Solutions fills.

Message. Manage. Move forward.

Message. Manage. Move forward.

Message. Manage. Move forward.

Message. Manage. Move forward.

The Shift

Trust follows the leader.

People no longer extend trust to institutions by default; increasingly, they extend it to the leaders closest to them. That trust concentrates on the person at the top, giving a leader’s voice more weight and more risk than the company’s.

Executive visibility has moved from a brand-building exercise to a business imperative, with customer and market trust as its leading reported benefit. But visibility without preparation can cut the other way.

The leaders who define this era will not be the loudest; they will be the most trusted. Trust is built through clear, human, credible communication and action, especially when it is hardest to deliver.

When the consequences are high, experience matters.

Latour Solutions is led by Deirdre Latour, who has worked inside high-stakes communications environments at the highest levels.

Her experience includes leading global communications for GE, a Fortune 100 company with 300,000 employees across 160 countries. She guided GE through a CEO succession and served as chief spokesperson during complex global events, including the Beijing Olympics.

Deirdre also led an 800-person PR agency office and provided counsel to clients across consumer products, retail, media, healthcare, energy, industrial, entertainment, and sports.

That experience gives her a practical understanding of the pressure leaders face when every word matters. Clients work directly with Deirdre, whose approach is direct, discreet, and human, helping leaders sound more like themselves, not less.

Any CEO would be lucky to have her in their inner circle.

Companies can create or destroy value in minutes in today’s hyper-connected world. When cultivating a brand and communicating with constituents, CEOs must capitalize on opportunities and manage the inevitable risks of running any enterprise with a public profile. I have watched Deirdre flawlessly execute both imperatives, and any CEO would be lucky to have her in their inner circle.

A good communicator is invaluable to a CEO.

We are a big company, well respected, and a big target. GE is at the forefront of digital and industrial innovation. While the ideas and execution are hard, telling the ‘story of change’ may be even harder. That is why I love working with Deirdre. A good communicator is invaluable to a CEO. They must be a strategist, a coach, and a street fighter—in equal measure. They must explain complex topics in simple words, and sometimes make messy situations look poetic. A good one is smart, tough, and fun.

Deirdre is the best partner I have ever worked with.

Today, almost every organization is struggling to find the right way to engage with an increasingly complex array of stakeholders. Effective brand and communications are at the top of every leader’s agenda. But true experts in the field, professionals who have the real-life experience of the toughest issues, are thin on the ground. Deirdre is the best partner I have ever worked with. Her business savvy, ability to look around corners and anticipate issues—not just react to them—her ability to take action and deliver results, and, frankly, her natural instincts, make Deirdre a valued member of any team.

Deirdre is that rare communications leader

who truly sees things from a 360-degree perspective. She intuitively gets how communications needs to work across national boundaries, and with the diverse array of audiences—including customers, employees, investors, thought leaders, and regulators—that any multinational company today speaks to. At a time when companies have never been more impacted by governments, Deirdre was an incredible partner in helping craft a public affairs strategy that positioned GE as the trusted partner of governments around the world. And her instincts, honed by years of experience operating at the highest levels of global business, are second to none.

Karan Bhatia
VP and Global Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy, Google

Deirdre is a savvy and connected leader.

The environment for companies has changed dramatically in the last decade. Deirdre understands how to navigate complex dynamics to develop messaging strategies that reach important audiences. Her experience leading teams all over the world allows her to understand the impact of government on business in a more nuanced way than many communicators. She will be a valuable addition to corporate teams.

–
Richard Constable
Global Head of Government Affairs and Social Impact, MSG Entertainment

I watched Deirdre in action as the CCO of GE.

I was on the GE board for 16 years. She was the ‘go-to’ person in the company. Whether it was the crisis of the moment or seeking a longer-term communications strategy, Deirdre was the person every GE leader sought out. No one has more experience. Deirdre has lived it all. She understands the multitude of audiences any organization faces and how to reach each one of them effectively. She is smart and tough, nimble and creative. She’s a communications person’s communications person.
